Getting Involved In WCMS activities.

There are many ways that a physician member can be involved in the activities of the Medical Society.  Listed are ways you may want to get involved.

General Membership meetings.  These meeting are held four times a year, and all members and their spouses are invited to attend.  The meetings start with a social time, preceded by a buffet dinner and interesting speaker/program

Board of Trustees.  The WCMS Board of Trustees meets monthly and consist of 13 physician members and the current Alliance President.  Any member is welcome to attend Board meetings, and you may contact the Society office if you are interested in a position on the Board.  The Nominating Committee meets each year and submits its recommendations to the General Membership for election at the Annual Meeting in January. Click on Board of Trustees for a listing the board members

Committees.  There are eight standing Committees of the Society.  One of the first tasks of the newly elected President is to appoint committee chairs and members. You may contact the Society office if you are interested in participating on a committee.

Mini-Internship Program.  Physicians are always needed to participate in the yearly Mini-Internship Program.  By allowing community leaders to “shadow” you through your work day, you will have the opportunity to enhance  communication and share the rewards and challenges of being a physician. Programs provides a listing of all the WCMS activites

Sports Exam Physicals.  WCMS members volunteer one evening a year (usually in June) to do sports exam physicals for returning high school students. Contact the Society Office for the date and time.
